A Perfect Day in Seacrest Beach with Kids

Every time I spend a day with my family in Seacrest Beach, I’m reminded why this part of 30A has my heart. The place offers a peaceful atmosphere which suits families who want to experience a relaxing vacation with their children. The beach provides an ideal setting for families to unwind while enjoying the simple pleasures of life.

Start the Morning Easy

The Seacrest area experiences a peaceful and relaxed environment during its morning hours. The bike ride serves as our traditional starting point which has become a regular practice. Peddlers Pavilion has rentals for everyone (even little tag-alongs), and the paths winding through palm trees are safe and shaded. I grab a coffee; the kids grab smoothies, and we just ride.

Or by the Water

The beach stands as the place where all the enchantment takes place. The beach at Seacrest features white sand that feels like powder and the ocean displays a perfect turquoise color which appears almost artificial.

Our beach trip includes a tent for shade and food supplies and building tools but the main focus is to give children complete freedom to explore. The sunlit waves create a magical atmosphere as they jump through the water which makes me appreciate how quickly time passes and how important these basic moments are.

Lunch & A Little Break

The beach day ends with everyone having sunburned skin and feeling hungry because Seacrest offers excellent dining options. Lola Coastal Italian is always a favorite for us, relaxed, stylish, and so family-friendly. The pasta and flatbread at the restaurant provided exactly what we needed after spending several hours by the ocean with high salt levels.

And if we’re in the mood for something a little different, Pescado and Cowgirl Kitchen over in Rosemary Beach are just a few minutes away and perfect for families.

Golden Hour Family Session

This is my favorite part of the day. When the sun begins to dip, Seacrest Beach turns to gold. The crowds disappear while the wind becomes gentle and all things in the world seem peaceful.

I enjoy doing family photo sessions at this time.

The kids are usually relaxed from a full day of play, parents are sun-kissed and smiling, and the light… well, it does most of the work for me.

The most important photos turn out to be the authentic ones instead of the ones that look perfect.

End with Ice Cream & Sunset

After our session, we always reward the kids with ice cream from Smallcakes. The sticky treats bring happiness to the children who observe the sky transform into pink and gold colors. People return to the beach at sunset to witness the final moments of daylight which create a serene conclusion to their already fading day.

If you ever find yourself in Seacrest Beach with your kids, don’t overplan it. Seacrest exists to create a pure and loving experience so the day should follow a peaceful and steady pace.
