The town of Alys Beach appears as if it emerged from a fairy tale...
...Because of its white buildings and its palm trees and its peaceful wind that creates a gentle time delay. The location creates an environment which makes being present the main activity.
My kids love it and here is why
Start With a Slow Morning Stroll:
Alys is a design adventure. The curved paths of the garden provide us with a special experience because we love to walk or bike through them while admiring the beautiful architecture. The children consistently discover secret courtyards and fountains and doorways which they claim resemble a castle.
The Nature Trail located on the north side of the park provides an excellent experience for families with children because it offers shaded paths that are both quiet and suitable for strollers.
LOCAL TIP:
If your kids are old enough to cylce, park in Rosemary Beach in cycle along 30a to Alys Beach. It takes around 10 min. I do that every Saturday morning with 5 and 7years old.
WHERE TO GO FOR BREAKFAST:
-Raw & Juicy is the best option for healthy, organic food. The atmosphere is beautiful, and it’s right next to a turf playground for the kids. If you’re lucky, you can sip your iced coffee while your little ones play.
-Fonville Press Market Café is a charming spot where you can grab food to-go, settle in for a relaxed meal, or enjoy cocktails with friends. The neighborhood atmosphere of this place creates a cozy environment which welcomes people to spend their days at a relaxed pace. and they have cute pink umbrellas :)
WHERE TO GO FOR LUNCH:
We love George’s it’s welcoming, local, and good for kids and adults.
My go-to:
- A simple grilled fish plate or salad
- Kids:
- Chicken fingers or grilled cheese (and somehow half my fries every time)
Sitting on the porch always feels like the right answer.
Dinner in Alys Beach
The sunset brings magic to Alys Beach as it transforms the entire area into an enchanting destination.
Citizen for dinner because it provides a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere which serves fresh coastal menu items that always deliver exceptional flavor. The place provides a space for guests to stay awhile while they drink wine and experience a relaxing pace of the day.
LOCAL TIP: They have a great happy hour on food and drinks

A Slow, Beautiful Ending to the Day
Alys Beach creates a lasting impression which remains in your mind. The white architecture, clean lines, and thoughtful design make every corner feel intentional, elegant, but never rushed. The buildings begin to shine as the sun sets while the entire town becomes enveloped by gentle illumination.
I love ending the day with a slow walk, maybe a cocktail in hand, just wandering the pathways and courtyards.
The children lead the way while the atmosphere grows cooler and everything seems to move with perfect ease.
There’s no need to plan much in Alys Beach. Just being here is enough.
