Capturing your family's special moments creates everlasting memories that you can cherish forever. Family photoshoots are a great way to document your children growing up, record important milestones and create unforgettable keepsakes - even if your partner is not so keen.

Taking family photos can be tricky when some family members aren’t super keen on having their pictures taken. Some partners will agree to it just to put a smile on their significant other’s face, while others may be unenthusiastic or even refuse altogether. This might not look or sound enjoyable, but I'm confident I have the skills to make it work! I'm excited to bring out a few tricks from my bag of tricks and really make something special out of this.

It's essential to be mindful of how you initiate the conversation with your partner about family photos. Instead of trying to manipulate them into a shoot, try being understanding and share the importance of having these keepsakes. Doing this can greatly improve their response and avoid any potential arguments! Though, it may appear as if they are being tough, there are likely reasons behind their behavior.

Prepare yourself for the top objections your partner may give for not having a family photography session and be ready with the perfect answer!

Partner: I don't see the value of Family Pictures.

You: Photos last a lifetime, making them an invaluable investment for your kids. When they look back on these photos in the future, they will be filled with nostalgia and appreciation! Furthermore, you can never predict what might happen in the future, therefore these photos are priceless.

Partner: It’s too expensive.

You: It's important to me because …

Let's write up a financial plan. Maybe we can do a mini session instead of a full session.

Partner: I'm not a fan of being in front of the camera!

You: I'm sure we will have fun and you will forget the camera. Remember, the pictures should focus on the kids or the whole family, not just you.

Partner: I don’t have time. It doesn’t fit in with my schedule.

You: I'm curious to hear what is really bothering you. Let's make this photoshoot count! I truly believe that it can be beneficial for us all and I'd love for you to recognize its worth.

Ultimately, you are the best judge of what would work for your partner.

Good luck :)
